French toast and apple bake

Servings : 4

Ingredients

  • 500g of bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 apples
  • 50cl of milk
  • 150g of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons of raisins
  • 5cl of rum (optional)

 

Preparation

  1. In a large dish, whisk together the eggs, the sugar, the milk and rum.
    Add the raisins and the cinnamon, and soak the bread for 10 minutes.
  2. Thinly slice the apples into rounds.
  3. Line a cake tin with baking paper, allowing it to overhang.
  4. Place slices of bread and apple, pressing down a little. Pour over some of the egg mixture.
  5. Continue this same operation until you reach the top of the tin, fold in the hanging over baking paper and cook for 30 minutes in a medium to high oven.
  6. Unfold the paper and allow it to cook a further 15 minutes.
  7. Once cooled off, remove from the tin.
